I visited Ashley Furniture today and had a very disappointing experience with one of the employees, Henry. He was unable to answer basic questions or provide proper assistance and repeatedly tried to pass his responsibilities onto another employee who was already extremely busy helping multiple customers. Instead of stepping up and doing his job, he kept asking this coworker to handle things for him while she was clearly overwhelmed. What made the situation worse was the way he spoke to her — it came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. It was uncomfortable to witness a staff member treating a coworker that way in front of customers. Customer service in a retail environment should involve professionalism, teamwork, and respect. Unfortunately, Henry demonstrated none of these qualities during my visit. Meanwhile, the other employee was doing her best to juggle several customers and responsibilities at once, which I appreciated. Ashley Furniture management should seriously address situations like this. When employees display poor work ethic and disrespect toward coworkers in front of customers, it reflects very poorly on the store and the brand overall. I gave this store 3 starts since I appreciate how hard his coworker was working.
