The sales associate that assisted us was amazing. She was kind, informative, and attentive. The manager was rude to his associates, making an awkward situation for us as customers witnessing him tell off the kind associate who was asking him for help. The quality of our purchase is great, but we put the order in, in-store in Jan 25, it was finally ready on May 13… so just keep that in mind… we were told about 6 weeks but could be longer. We didn’t think it would take almost half a year.

I’m very disappointed with the lack of quality control and customer service at major furniture stores like Ashley and The Brick. I personally recommended Ashley HomeStore to a friend who ended up having a terrible post-purchase experience, and I also ordered a coffee table and an end table online for myself. Unfortunately, both items arrived with many scratches. I tried to contact customer service multiple times, but no one responded. It’s very frustrating that after spending a lot of money, there seems to be no accountability or follow-up. Why is there no proper oversight on these big retailers? They take people’s money but fail to provide proper service or support. Once the purchase is made, it feels like the customer no longer matters. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and needs more attention. Customers deserve better service and transparency—especially when paying premium prices.

I initially had written a positive Google review for Ashley in Coquitlam because of the great experience I had on the day I purchased my item. However, unfortunately, my experience after the purchase—especially with the delivery—was extremely disappointing and frustrating, which led me to change my review. First, the item I received on the delivery day had several scratches, and the delivery service was not satisfactory. Second and most importantly, it was promised that our furniture—which included the bed frame, a dresser, and an adjustable base—would be delivered all together on the same day. However, this promise was not fulfilled, and we found out on the delivery day that the adjustable base was missing without any prior notification. There was a lack of transparency, and no one informed us that the item would not be delivered as promised. When we followed up on why the adjustable base wasn’t delivered, we were told it wasn’t in stock and might not be available for months, leaving us with no choice but to accept a floor model instead. Additionally, for about a month, we were unable to use our bedroom because the bed frame had no base and was essentially unusable, which caused a lot of inconvenience. After several follow-ups and unsuccessful attempts to get information, we were finally offered a floor model of the adjustable base from the Coquitlam store with a discount. I accepted this solution under the condition that the warranty for this item would be the same as the original. However, when the item was finally delivered—after a delay and follow-up—we were told that it was a clearance item with no warranty at all, contrary to what I had been told over the phone. We chose Ashley because we had heard that their products were of good quality, but given the high prices, we did not receive the level of service or product quality we expected. Overall, the entire situation has left me very unhappy with Ashley’s service. Because of this lack of transparency, insufficient explanations, and the delays without any apologies, I am extremely dissatisfied and frustrated. The discount offered was not adequate given the level of inconvenience we experienced.

I previously bought from Ashley, but this latest experience reflected the poor quality of their products and service. I bought a bedroom set, with many chips on the bed and nightstand, and a dresser with a crushed corner. After much effort on my part, including several calls to their service centre, and requirements from them to re-submit pictures and videos to prove the damage, a technician came and painted over the chips. However, I had to call to book for a replacement top for the dresser. I now have to wait for 4 weeks for that replacement part. I have to receive it, and then reach out to Ashley again to have them pick up the dresser and paint it at their shop. So all-in, probably a 6-8 week process to get a damaged dresser repaired. When I asked for them to replace the dresser, and fix the defective dresser on their time, they said that is not their process, even after elevating it. They simply do not care. I was given the not-so-helpful suggestion to fill up the drawers for the next month, then empty the drawers while Ashley repairs the chest the following month. Not a normal or reasonable way to treat clients.
