We love our new furniture and Harleen was incredible! We bought a sofa and a love seat and the very next day I changed my mind completely. I went back in spoke with Harleen and even though she was already with clients she took the time to listen and find the exact furniture for me. She literally spent two days with me and what I thought were my original specifications for sofas and when I changed my mind she helped me find the right furniture for my new specifications. The entire experience was easy, comforting and reassuring, can’t recommend Harleen and Ashley’s future enough. Love our new living room, thank you Harleen! Naj
Let’s observe a one-minute silence for the “exceptional” team at Ashley Furniture Coquitlam — truly pioneers in redefining what customer disappointment looks like after spending $16,000. From the very first interaction, it’s been a masterclass in creative storytelling: bold promises, imaginative commitments, and surprise charges that appear like plot twists no one asked for. Special appreciation to the sales team (yes, including Harleen) for selling a premium “white glove delivery” experience that exists purely in theory. Communication? Absolutely world-class — if your expectation is silence. Neither the store answers calls, nor does the salesperson. The real strategy seems to be: make the customer take time off work, come to the store in person, sit there, explain everything again, and then leave with a fresh batch of reassuring words like “we’re working on it” — with no timeline, no accountability, and no actual resolution. Now, the delivery experience — truly unforgettable: • Walking into a brand-new, professionally inspected home with dirty shoes, just to add a personal touch • Damaging walls, doors, and carpets as if it’s included in the service package • Leaving thermocol debris and mess across both the house and common areas — because cleanup is clearly overrated • Refusing to unpack/place items that were confidently promised during the sale And the product quality? Consistently inconsistent: • Dining chair with a faulty leg • Bed delivered incomplete (even their own technician confirmed it — a rare moment of honesty) • Bar stools with misaligned holes, because precision is optional After-sales service deserves a standing ovation for maintaining the same level of excellence: • Claims denied despite clear photo evidence — efficiency at its finest • A technician scheduled for April 18 casually shows up on April 11 — because schedules are merely suggestions • Endless “we’ll call you back” promises that add suspense to your day • 20+ days of complete inability to troubleshoot even the most basic concerns What stands out the most is the consistency — consistent miscommunication, consistent delays, consistent avoidance, and a consistently impressive ability to not resolve anything. At this point, it genuinely feels like a well-designed system: sell big, deliver poorly, avoid calls, and stretch the process long enough that the customer either gives up or learns patience at a spiritual level. If you’re looking for professionalism, accountability, or even basic respect for your time and money — this might not be the place. But if you’re curious to experience how far “customer service” can be stretched as a concept, this is definitely a place to start.
I had a great experience at this store . All of staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful throughout my visit. Especially, Harleen was really kind ❣️ She is professional and positive attitude made the whole shopping experience enjoyable and stress-free. Adding further in Response to Jessica's comment on this post: Dear Jessica, you were supposed to call us back but you vanished like a pro. I trust that Ashley's won't be able to solve my problem, but AT LEAST TRY TO keep your customers updated after cheating them. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had a very disappointing experience with Ashley Furniture Coquitlam after paying CAD$16,000. It's full of fake commitments from the sales team, missing and faulty products, negligence from the delivery team, and pathetic customer support. It's an adorable scam. We moved into a brand new, professionally inspected home, and Ashley’s delivery team was the first to enter. During the first delivery, they damaged our home, which we reported the very next day with photos. Their response? Claim denied without accountability. During the second delivery, things got worse: Team walked in with dirty shoes and damaged our carpet, no response by their claims team. Left mess all over the house and in the apartment's common area (thermocol debris), no resolution by the customer support. Refused to unpack/place the rug as promised by the sales team. Product quality was also unacceptable: Faulty dining chair (leg issue) Bed delivered incomplete (confirmed by their own technician) Bar stools with inconsistent holes To make matters worse, a technician was scheduled for April 18, but they showed up unannounced on April 11. Their own technician confirmed defects, yet the company continues to avoid responsibility. On top of that, promised callbacks and timelines were not honored. This entire experience has caused significant stress and frustration. I have now requested a full return and refund, along with resolution for the damages. If you’re expecting professional service or “white glove delivery,” think twice before purchasing here.
