To preface, I would have given Ashley HomeStore a 5 star review until what happened today. Had a fanatastic experience buying a couch and had a flawless home delivery. During the home delivery, the crew mentioned if I have recieved a "Cleaning Kit" which I haven't, they said the store always forgets to give those out and told me to go visit and pick it up. I texted my Sales associate Kelly (who has been fantastic) to confirm that if it is included with my purchase. To which she replied "Yes it is at the store, sorry I should of given it to you". I visited the store yesterday around 5 pm to pick it up. The gentlemen behind the desk was immediately a bit hostile and agitated like I am trying to score freebies asking if I purchased the protection plan which I have not, "without it it's 60 dollars". I don't really care much for the kit in the first place but I explained my case above, I am here simply because I was told by Ashley Employees (White Glove Service home delivery and the sales associate) to pick it up. I even showed him the text exchange I had with Kelly. In a very condesending tone he told me "Are the delivery people on sales floor? No, it's 60 dollars". No apologies that I was given the wrong information, just fully giving me the vibe that I am being annoying and I am just here trying to score some freebies. I don't expect to be treated like royalty just because I bought something, I just expect basic respect and understanding. To condecend and give me sass when it was your own employees telling me to pick it up in the first place is beyond me. Even if I was trying to purely score freebies when I'm not supposed to, is it really worth it to refuse to give out a cleaning kit that retails for 60 bucks (probably costs like 20 bucks for Ashley) when I have spent 3000 dollars on a couch from your store? Seems obsurd and a not worth while decision to me. Even though my previous experience so far has been fanatastic until today, it is really unfortunate that this exchange happened, I would have really loved to purchase our other much needed furniture at Ashley HomeStore but this really left a bad taste.

We worked with Rachel and Troy at the Red Deer location. We were there right at the end of the day due to our limited availability and they not only accommodated us at that time of day, but also made sure we were completely satisfied with our selections, pricing and conditions moving forward with the purchase. They were both very friendly, knowledgeable and what I liked best was that they gave us space to look and respected our shopping process. No pressure, they weren’t lingering awkwardly nearby, they would simply find us and check in. I was reluctant to go to Ashley based off of pricing alone, but after seeing the quality of the products compared to competitors and how accommodating the team was, we will definitely be back!
