This is not meant to be a slight against the staff’s personal character in any way. But I was completely turned off from any potential of business with Ashley Furniture based solely off of the way the staff conducts their sales. I drove an hour with my mom, my 2.5 year old and my 10 month old to check out some furniture to get an idea of what I might want to get for my living room. I had zero intent of purchasing that day, I simply wanted to get an idea of what was out there so I could decide how I could optimize the space I was working with. I had intended to browse 2 or 3 stores in my visit to Red Deer, and only had a couple hours to do it as my little one needed a nap. I also needed this browsing to be fast paced so that my little ones wouldn’t get bored. I brought my mom to give thoughts/opinions. But from the moment I entered the store, we were ushered around and all of a sudden talking numbers and “how can we help you leave with something today”. Papers were out, I was drawing out my living room… I didn’t even come with measurements, as like I said, I had no intent to purchase. I just wanted to see what was out there. Since we were no longer just browsing and instead sitting down looking at contracts, my kids were bored and my mom had to leave with them to keep them occupied. So now I didn’t have her help with opinions, the whole reason I drug her there with us. I didn’t feel like I could just walk around and look at what was available. I was shown exactly 3 couches, though I noticed there were some other options that we passed by. It was as if I was in a dealership. I met not one, not two, but THREE people all trying to make me say yes to a purchase. While numbers were being calculated, I also got ushered into a bed demo. I literally drove an hour with 2 kids and a senior to look at furniture and instead I’m taking a ride in a bed while someone pushes buttons to move me up and down. Ashley Furniture, do better. You have lost my business and have gained my opinion which I will share with friends and family. You had potential to gain a decent purchase from me as I was in the market for 6-7 modular sofa pieces, 2 accent chairs, a mattress and potentially a coffee table and end tables. But I felt pressured and didn’t even want to share with the sales people that I was also interested in other things. EDIT I texted Rose per request and received no response.

Rachel was excellent help with everything! She didn’t get upset or frustrated when we were trying to figure out what we wanted she stayed patient and was a delight!

Well, we purchased a coach, loveseat, coffee table and two end Tables today! What a great shopping experience. We really can wait for delivery! So I will post photos at a later date. Just want to Thank Rita for a Job well done!
