EDIT: I gave an additional star from my initial review because someone from Ashley went out of their way to call, apologize numerous times, and listen to and address my concerns in what felt like a genuine manner. As well, it seems that I will now be getting a full refund. This interaction left me with a much less negative view of the customer service and experience and I appreciated the follow-up effort. ORIGINAL: Although accommodating and responsive, I found the salespeople to be pushy and a bit obnoxious about how amazing they claim the Ashley furniture is. At time of purchase, they take your email address and phone number and then afterwards they have some automated “Jenny” spam you with messages and calls. After telling the store that I was getting these messages (had to stop there in person, because nobody answers the phone when you call) and that they were stating that I had to pick-up in Calgary (supposed to be Medicine Hat), they told me to just ignore the messages/calls!? We decided to cancel our purchase before picking up and I stopped in the store to request refund; however, you can’t do refunds in store (told they only do sales there!?) and you have to call in to request a refund. What they also don’t make obvious at time of sale is that they hold back 10% of the purchase price for a refund as in-store credit… I have never heard of a company doing this before and just feels shady/non-transparent and I feel is poor customer service. After this experience, I will not be shopping at Ashley again (except maybe to spend my store credit on something, so they don’t get it for free)

My husband and I were overjoyed at finding just what we needed for a new set of living room furniture at Ashley Home Store in Medicine Hat. We had never set foot in Ashley's before, but we definitely will be revisiting. Cathy helped us out immensely! I like the fact that Ashley's is a Canadian company, starting in Kenora, Ontario. It is now all over North America. Excellent.

Scott was very pleasant and helpful. He let me know that I would be getting a lot of emails and texts but it has been UNBELIEVABLE! I had rated it with 5 stars originally but took one off because of all the unnecessary messages. Delivery was quick and efficient. It was nice to be able to track the truck enroute to our house.
