Cost of delivery with Ashley Furniture: $3,600. Our invoice says delivery cost $169.99, but after the delivery crew trashed our brand-new home (a new build that we had been in for only three days) to the tune of $3,456.00, it really cost us $3,600 for a $2,460 sofa. Our Ashley experience will cost us $5,900 after damages. The most expensive sofa we have ever bought. On arrival, the lead announced that he didn’t think the couch would fit up the stairs. And then decided to try anyway. By the time the second piece was jammed at the top of the steps he was apologizing, saying this “wasn’t his regular crew”, while one of the crew was suggesting that they unscrew and peel back the railing in a manner that would have caused even more damage! The best advice would have been to go back to Ashley and pick out something different To follow up, Ashley personnel called that day and the week later and pretended to be concerned. One promised to “start a claim”. Then they disappeared, and Ashley has very limited options for communication. They will not exchange any info by email, and even our quote was mailed the old fashion way. We received no direction with respect to a claim that we have been told would be made for the damages, or for a prescribed pathway for dealing with Ashley on this matter. There was no follow up, for almost three months (nor has their been after we sent our quote) Lesson #1: don’t sign the delivery waiver! We knew we were being dismissed from the start because we did. We were unaware that Ashley considered this to be an open invitation to trash our home. We thought it covered them off for incidental bumps and scratches. Weeks ago we asked for a copy of the waiver, and their response? Nothing, not even a call. The damage is evident in the attached photos. The home repair quote is based on restoring our new home back to new-home condition: replacing the white popcorn-style ceiling due to extensive damage, replacing the railing that was scraped and gouged for the entire length, and extensive damage to the walls requires patching, sanding and painting. The attached pictures tell the story, including a shot of how the ceiling has been ground into the bottom corner of the sofa.
Wish could leave a lower rating. My brother an din purchased a few items here. When the item showed up it was damaged and when we contacted them they refused to help in any way. They wont replace the item. They were ruide. Customer service was even worse. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE.
