I am extremely disappointed with Ashley HomeStore at Heritage Gate and feel completely misled and taken advantage of. When we purchased our furniture (Order Numbers: 0826916848 and 0826889171), the sales staff pushed us hard to buy the purchase protection plan. My wife used her Fairstone account for the furniture, but she didn’t have enough credit limit for the protection plan. The staff insisted that I open my own Fairstone account and use my account to pay for the protection plan—including the plan for the furniture purchased under my wife’s Fairstone account. They assured us that everything would be “clubbed together” and fully covered. Two years later, when I finally needed to use the protection plan, I was told the furniture my wife bought is not eligible because the protection plan “wasn’t paid under her account.” This is exactly the opposite of what the store promised. I paid around $500–$600 for coverage on a queen bed, sectional sofa, and dining table, yet customer service now says that only the dining table is covered because it was the only item purchased under my name. When I reached out to the salesperson who sold the furniture, he said he no longer works there. I went to the store and spoke with JJ, who promised the issue would be resolved within a week. It has now been three months, and no one has bothered to follow up or take responsibility. The lack of accountability and the runaround from both customer service and the store staff is absolutely unacceptable. Ashley pushed the protection plan aggressively when taking my money, but when it came time to honor it, they provided zero help. I now feel ripped off, disgusted, and deeply disappointed. I will not be recommending Ashley HomeStore to any friends or family, and I strongly warn others to stay away from their purchase protection plans. They will gladly take your money, but when you actually need the protection, you’re on your own.
